U.S. to end De Minimis exemption rules starting August 29th, 2025.

[UPDATE] 2025.08.26.

※Following the termination of De Minimis rules, Japan Post officially announced to suspend any deliveries to the United States temporarily.
Any orders to the United States will be shipped by UPS.

The de minimis rule in the U.S. previously allowed for the duty-free importation of goods valued at $800 or less, facilitating low-value shipments without incurring customs duties. However, this rule will be end on August 29th, 2025 and all low-value shipments regardless of value, country of origin, or shipping method will be subject to duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, and government duties.

※In general, the following formula is said to be used, but it is still unrevealed.
(Declared item value + the actual shipping cost) × 15% + Handling fee UPS or any other courier companies apply.

Unfortunately, we seller cannot take any action to evade customs/taxes at all, but ask buyers to fulfill their responsibilities.
Please understand this change beforehand and consider shopping with Shinei in the future.

※ Due to this drastic change, the customs clearance will certainly take a lot of time, so please be ready for the delay in delivery.
